Ages ago (like, decades) I remember seeing some programme (I think it was part of a drama series, and this particular episode was set in Japan) in which the plot had something to do with - I can't remember if it was actual survivors of the bombing or their offspring - being considered unmarriageable because of radiation damage affecting their ability to have healthy children. For all I know this was entirely made up for the purposes of the plot.
