Mainly I'm posting because I found myself writing this after reading Merlin fic and wondering how a domestic Merlin/Harry Potter crossover might work:
"-and there's a Harry, a Gandalf and a Merlin in our year."
"Don't talk with your mouth full," Merlin said, then his ears caught up. "Merlin? And I thought Lucy's year was bad." He rubbed the buzz-cut of his eldest daughter's teasingly - earning an annoyed "Dad!" - and revealed, "They've got a Gellert Grindelwald (yes, the whole thing) and an Albus."
"Grizzie's okay," Lucy said meditatively. "She thought about being a Dark witch in our second year, but gave that up to be a Beater."

Watched Batman movie. It took about 3 hours. Afterwards we were sitting and watching the credits, thinking there would be outakes but there wasn't. But that's ok, half the theatre thought the same. :p
It was 3 hours of nice set pieces and contains a really long reverse siege of Gotham and a very uncool-looking Bat-flying vehicle (didn't catch the name for it). Ending had a dramatic scene of policemen (they were mostly men?) marching down the streets after they had been imprisoned underground for months, without any sign of trauma, malnutrition or weakness from lack of exercise. Also, it seemed like there were excellent bathing and laundry facilities down in the sewers. The villain Bane - I'm sorry but I spent the whole movie wondering about his dental hygiene, as well as his feeding habits - was disappointingly the second banana to the apparent mastermind who bafflingly had nothing better to do than to carry out a revenge/destructive plan masterminded by someone else. Bruce runs away to a new life, which is what he should have done from the beginning (see Alfred).
It should have been an exciting movie? But it was rather predictable. Or maybe it's that I'm not really a Batman fan.
rivkat points to other reviews that are more substantial. Also linked from there to this review.
