Erm, lived each day of 2009?
2. Did you keep your new year's resolutions, and will you make more for next year?
Not really... *sigh* But I'll make more for next year. One can always strive to do better, yes?
3. Did anyone close to you give birth?
No.
4. Did anyone close to you die?
No.
5. What countries did you visit?
China.
6. What would you like to have in 2010 that you lacked in 2009?
Enthusiasm for the new and optimism for the future.
7. What date from 2009 will remain etched upon your memory, and why?
Good: That day in June in Changbaishan, China.
Bad: Another day in June when I started making plans to leave my job.
8. What was your biggest achievement of the year?
I found a new job and made new friends.
9. What was your biggest failure?
Being a terrible editor, which necessitated (8).
10. Did you suffer illness or injury?
Yep, caught the flu in China. But nothing more serious.
11. What was the best thing you bought?
The Shorter Oxford English Dictionary. Hehehehehehe
12. Whose behavior merited celebration?
Can't think of anyone at the moment.
13. Whose behavior made you appalled and depressed?
Can't think of anyone at the moment, but I'm sure there were many.
14. Where did most of your money go?
Bills. Goddamn bills. And a new laptop.
15. What did you get really, really, really excited about?
Trip to China!
16. What song will always remind you of 2009?
渔舟唱晚， which I had to learn for the guzheng exam.
17. Compared to this time last year, are you:
i. happier or sadder? Happier. No longer being stressed by my previous job.
ii. thinner or fatter? A teensy bit thinner?
iii. richer or poorer? Poorer. But less stressed and so happier.
18. What do you wish you'd done more of?
The usual: Writing, practising guzheng and qin, reading. And sleeping.
19. What do you wish you'd done less of?
My old job. Should've left it much, much earlier. And less of being negative at and about people; it just makes me bitter.
20. How will you be spending Christmas?
Have done so. It was boring.
21. Did you fall in love in 2009?
No comment.
22. How many one-night stands?
No comment.
23. What was your favorite TV programme?
Would that I have the time to watch TV...
24. Do you hate anyone now that you didn't hate this time last year?
No. The reverse is true, though. I hated my old supervisor(s) last year and this year I'm full of graciousness and forgiveness. Heh.
25. What was the best book you read?
Darwinia by Robert Charles Wilson, which was really good but disappointingly (for me) did not persist with the fantastic (as in fantasy-like) zoology.
26. What was your greatest musical discovery?
You gotta move your thumb to pluck the string the correct way.
27. What did you want and get?
A teddy bear. And that dress I'd been waiting to go on sale for TWO YEARS.
28. What was your favorite film of this year?
Ponyo on the Cliff.
29. What did you do on your birthday, and how old were you?
I ate cake.
30. What one thing would have made your year immeasurably more satisfying?
Writing more fics. Making more money. :p
31. How would you describe your personal fashion concept in 2009?
Same as before, only now with my new lace shawl.

There's this lovely park near my office. I go there when I need a break.

Thaksin. Actually, it's last year's news but.

My old colleagues. Ex-boss who immigrated. Old friend who's now in DC.

New colleagues.

What really matters is keeping your wits together and facing the difficult stuff head on, not being passive and refusing to deal with it just because you're scared.

1) Procrastinate only the least important stuff.
2) Write more, read more.
3) But also sleep more.
4) Stop that habit of playing with/tugging at hair when bored. Knit instead.
5) See cockroach, kill cockroach.
