Have reached the tail end of law school. Things to come: student debt, pupilage, and (much later) bar exams. Ahhh, what's not to like, eh? In the meantime,

Reading:

1. Fire from Heaven, Mary Renault, on my Kindle.

Because I've seen my f-list mention this book here and there, and it sounded intriguing so I thought, it's three bucks for a Kindle version, why not?

Still, I'm having a vague feeling of déjà vu whilst reading this. Can't help but think I have read it before, and yet, can't be. I'd surely remember if - even if it were many years ago - I'd read a novel of the life of Alexander the Great, wouldn't I? I'm certain I haven't read this before. Hm.

2. William Morris Textiles, by Linda Parry, apparently 2013 updated version. More for the eye candy than anything else. As obvious from my icon, I have a small weakness for (some) William Morris stuff.

3. Please Look After Mother, Kyung-Sook Shin (or should that be Shin Kyung-Sook?)

This is very good, but I am a tad peeved(?) that 'Mother' is continually, continuously 'Mother'. Despite all that her children and husband come to understand her and that she has an inner life, that she is fully individualised, she is 'Mother'. Maybe that's the point of the book.

Game:

I'm playing Hay Day. It's weirdly addictive.

Personality tests:

At an (early) Christmas dinner of colleagues, where we did as a party game a personality quiz (all very rudely on our mobiles, yes). I got, as I have in all the times I've done similar tests, INTP. (Ok, once it was INTJ.) It's reassuring and discouraging at the same: it's nice to know the positive parts are still there, but couldn't I exchange the negative parts for something better now? *pouts*

A colleague (whom I assume has never seen this type of test before) was astonished at how accurate it was. Apparently it described another colleague to a T. Me: pft. I suspect it's just the questions in the test itself that prime you to remember certain aspects of someone's personality (eg, whether someone is sociable or not) and therefore have conclusions match the facts.

Knitting:

Promised self to start my Diatom Shawl but find myself sketching out design modifications for fingerless gloves. Not a bad idea, tho'.

You've probably already figured this part out, but the last semester of law school should be one of the most fun times of your life. Seriously - do not worry about the bar exam yet, go and have as excellent a time as you possibly can doing whatever makes you happiest in the interim. Congrats - you're almost done!!! ^_^
