Have been watching K-drama Love in the Moonlight aka Moonlight Drawn by Clouds (hilarious teaser here), which is more of a period idol drama wherein woman in disguise as man turns up in the palace as an enunch falls in love with meet-cute crown prince. There's some typical palace plotting, together with some expected she's-daughter-of-a-rebel! drama coming up. Which actually reminded me of Dong Yi. I'm really very curious about how it will end because the setting is based on actual history and the said crown prince in history... well. Died young.

On the personal front, I actually left my firm a couple of weeks ago so am feeling rather bereft. Also I'm quite pissed off, to be frank. Quite a number of things went screwy, including the fact that my boss and I disagreed violently about the management of a case and I handled it for a while and then I thought, damn it, stop telling me to make representations to court about stuff that I don't agree with.

It got to the stage where managing the case and his weird expectations was not workable. I mean, I know they say lawyers are twisty people who interpret things in imaginative ways but there are limits. You don't get to front a nonsensical interpretation of the law just because. It's like handing me a $50 cheque and insisting that it should be for $500 because, if only "you read it with an extra 0". No, dude, no. So much wtf.

I'm sorry about the job situation. I agree that sounds awful, and I'm sorry that it happened to you. *hugs* and I hope you find something better whenever you're ready.

Yay recs~~ will check them out! =D

Sorry to hear about real life drama. I just went through something similar (quit my firm because reasons, unemployment, eventually new job) so I can say with confidence that the transition period completely fucking sucks. Better to have your integrity, though, since it's tough to get that back once it's gone. And also! I have a terrifying number of resources for legal job hunting which I am happy to share if you're currently looking. Because integrity is awesome, but it unfortunately does not pay bills. I forget where you're admitted (I'm in New York), but let me know and if I can help you network somewhere, I definitely will.
