Sorry to hear about real life drama. I just went through something similar (quit my firm because reasons, unemployment, eventually new job) so I can say with confidence that the transition period completely fucking sucks. Better to have your integrity, though, since it's tough to get that back once it's gone. And also! I have a terrifying number of resources for legal job hunting which I am happy to share if you're currently looking. Because integrity is awesome, but it unfortunately does not pay bills.
